TJ Talks Madonna

I respect the hell out of Madonna. When you sit back and look at what she has achieved, its impossible not to.
I’m not a devoted fan or anything, I mean, i don’t know her birthday or the name of every song of hers in order of release or anything like that, Just your average music fan with a couple of her albums on my iPod.

The thing that blows my mind about her is how long she has lasted.
She became a star in the early 80s, and has been pretty much on top of the music scene ever since then. thats 25 years on top!

Think about everyone else that was a huge star in the 80s… how many of them are still huge stars selling millions and millions of albums still today? NOT MANY!

While others have shot to fame, enjoyed a few years of success and then been forgotten, Madonna’s fame and popularity have barely even blinked…

Sure the tabloids and media have tried.. but unlike with everyone else, they just cant seem to sway the publics opinion like they do with all the others.

the simple pop career formula usually runs like clock work.

1) singer has a #1 and becomes famous
2) tabloids say nice things about them and print pretty pictures.
3) singer releases a few more songs that don’t sell as many as the first hit
4) after a couple of years, the media get bored of this person so they decide its time to rip them down.
5)t abloids start printing their rumors, and only posting ugly pics of the singer
6) people believe what they read in the glossy magazines, so singers career as a ‘popular artist’ is over.

total time spent as a ‘popular artist’ is usually no longer than 3 or 4 years.

Somehow though, Madonna has managed to stay on top, and not have her career tarnished by the media scum.

Why is that? is it because she is the ‘Queen of re-invention’? - having a whole new look and sound for every album…

Or could it be her no bullshit, fuck you attitude?
Did u see her at the recent ‘Live Earth’ concert in London?
Stood there on stage, and called the very crowd that were cheering and adoring her… “Mother Fuckers”

I think that is brilliant!! Its a perfect example of how Madonna can pretty much do whatever she wants, and not have to worry that her popularity or sales will suffer.

Maybe another reason she has been forever popular is because she never makes her fans wait around for very long before she gives them something new.
For example.. it feels like only yesterday that she released “Hung Up’ and did the video with the 70’s style blow wave and pink leotard..

But in actual fact that was around two years ago already. - 2 years sounds like a fair while, but when it comes to the music scene, its not very long at all.

So her last album is only a couple of years old, and she is already back in the studio working on her next one, which is rumored to be released by the end of this year! - does this woman ever rest?
she must have gone straight from her confessions tour, Into the studio without even as much as a shower!

Where does she even get time to raise that gorgeous daughter of hers? Lourdes… isn’t she beautiful.. i cant believe how much she looks EXACTLY like her mother!

Its just plain scary.. I wonder if she is going to follow her mothers footsteps and go with show business? It seems inevitable to me.. but time will tell..
